A little more about each photo ...

January - Waterton Lakes National Park, Alberta, Canada

This photo was taken during a Northwest roadtrip in March 2026. Jay & I trekked from Pasco, WA, through Montana, up into Canada, down through Idaho, then back into WA. It was too cold (icy/snow) to hike and too warm (slushy snow) to ski, but we found some really cool gems along the way!

February - Stevens Pass, Cascade Mountains, Washington

This photo was taken while skiing in Washington for the first time in 2019. My brother and I had driven from NJ to Washington for a book show I was attending, and before arriving in Seattle, we met up with one of his friends to have a day on the mountain.

March - Red Red Canyon, Mojave Desert, Nevada

This photo was taken while trekking from Las Vegas to Death Valley National Park in 2020. It's amazing how many beautiful landscapes exist just beyond that wild and crazy city of lights.

April - Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Blue Ridge Mountains, Tennessee

This photo was taken while hiking in 2020. I specifically remember the birds singing a beautiful melody while standing at this lookout.

May - Cecret Lake, Wasatch Mountains, Utah.

This photo was taken in 2021. The alpine lakes in this mountain range are incredible. At the start of every hike the trails run under non-operating ski lifts, as the mountain range sits between big ski towns—Salt Lake City and Park City.

June - Secret Cove, Lake Tahoe, Nevada.

This is a nude beach that my brother and I accidentally stumbled upon while roadtripping from San Francisco to Lake Tahoe to the Redwoods in 2020. We saw some nudists ... from afar ... but we never made it to Redwoods National Park—our car got robbed (smash & grab) in Redding, so we had to reroute after that.

July - Lake Alice, Sawtooth Mountains, Idaho.

This photo was taken in 2022 on a hike that totaled 22 miles! The Sawtooth Mountains is one of my favorite places I've ever hiked. Every hike is a challenge, and every alpine lake hidden in these mountains is uniquely exquisite. Every hike had new and impressive views to appreciate.

August - Cathedral Rock, Sedona, Arizona

This photo was taken in 2020 while hiking with my aunt in Sedona. My road trip in 2020 consisted of Phoenix > Sedona > Williams, AZ > Grand Canyon > Joshua Tree National Park > Pinnacles National Park > Hume Lake (Cover of the Calendar) > Sequoia National Park > Kings Canyon National Park > Lake Tahoe > Redding (Car Robbery!) Redwoods > Sacramento (to get a new rental car) > ending with a road Trip down the California Coast and a flight home out of San Francisco

September - Hunterdon County, NJ

This photo was taken in 2021. Sometimes you don't to travel far to capture a beautiful moment in nature.

October - Artist's Bluff, White Mountains, New Hampshire

This photo was taken in 2025 at the most iconic lookout point un NH! I don't think any place beats autumn in the Northeast.

November - Kattskill Bay, Lake George, New York

This photo was taken in 2021 on my way up to the Adirondacks. I hope to share some of those foliage photos in a future calendar, but this amazing sunset photo on the lake deserved a spot in my first ever nature calendar.

December - Upper Yosemite Fall, Half Dome, & Yosemite Valley in Yosemite National Park, California

This photo was taken in 2022 during a February trip to Yosemite NP! It was cold and the trails in the north valley of the park were closed due to ice, but I still managed to score some amazing miles in the park. I also got to see the infamous "Fire Falls", which is a natural phenomenon that happens once a year where the sun hits half dome in such a way that it creates the illusion of a waterfall made of fire cascading down the side of the rocks.
